A Year End Message from our President, Wes Noon

A Year End Message from our President, Wes Noon

On Behalf of myself and My family, we want to thank everyone that is a part of our Hockey Family. Its been a difficult last few days with the cancellation of all sporting events. While this is tough for us as an organization, we understand the precautionary measures that have been taken. With the end of our season cut short due to this Pandemic, our largest struggle is thinking about all the players who have played their last game. There are so many people who's sports career has been cut short due to this COVID-19 virus pandemic. From the WHL, to collegiate to the JR A level, down thru the JR B level, not only our Chiefs team, but the 3 other PJHL teams that were set to play for their division championship. My heart hurts for these players who will never be able to grow with each victory or learn from each defeat in their last season from being cut short. For our graduating players, Thank you for your dedication to the CHIEFS as well as the PJHL. For our over age players who will be moving onto bigger and better things, thank you for all that you have done, accomplished and learned. Though this is the end of your Jr career, you are all destined to do great things! To all of our returning players, as GM/Coach Eric said in his statement, we aren't finished yet and will have a great base to build on for next season. To our coaching staff, Thank you for another incredible season! Eric, you have again lead an incredible group of young men to be the best that they can be, not only on the ice but off as well. To all of the Chiefs staff, Thank you again for all of your hard work to make the Chiefs the best that we can be!!! To all of our volunteers, Thank you! we couldn't do what we do with out all of your help! It was a great season that was cut short, but we will be back ready to go for 2021-22! President Wes Noon

A MESSAGE FROM CHIEFS HC/GM ERIC DITTO ON '19-'20 SEASON ENDING

A MESSAGE FROM CHIEFS HC/GM ERIC DITTO ON '19-'20 SEASON ENDING

Today we received word from the Prairie Junior Hockey League (PJHL) that the 2019-20 season has officially been cancelled. We understand the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic going on in the world right now and fully respect Hockey Canada’s decision to cancel our season.

I can only speak for myself when I say this is the most heartbreaking way to have a season end. I want to personally thank every member of our organization. The fans were awesome showing us support even on the coldest week nights of the year. Thank you to our volunteers who make our team run with next to no recognition. Thank you to our Support Staff and to our Coaching Staff, Anthony Radke and Ryan Pilon, two new guys who showed dedication and heart for the team and the game. Thank you to our President, Wes Noon, who leads the Chiefs organization and strives to make it a class act in every way he can.

Most importantly I want to thank our players. You worked your tails off this year. You battled adversity and you stuck together. What an amazing group it was. Your commitment to practices and games was by far one of the best I have had the opportunity to be a part of in this league. With over 40 practices, 40 regular season games, and 4 playoff games, your dedication made our team the tight knit group that it was over the past 7 months. More specifically I want to thank our over-age players, Austin Linnen and Joel Zaidan. The time the two of you put into this league does not go unnoticed. You are both amazing hockey players and even better people. To not be able to play for a Championship in your last year isn’t how we wanted it to end, but always remember the successes you had along the way. To our 20-year olds who are unable to return next year always remember, “Once a Chief, Always a Chief.” To all of our players who can return next year, Let’s pick up right where we left off!
